A person was hospitalized with serious injuries after they were hit by a car in Stamford Saturday night, police say.

It happened near 966 High Ridge Rd. at 10:30 p.m.

A Nissan Altima was heading south when it struck a person crossing the road westbound.

Police say the person, who has not been identified, was crossing High Ridge Road from the east side to the west side of the street when they were struck.

They say there are no marked crosswalks in this section of the road.

The victim sustained life-threatening injuries and is in critical condition at Stamford Hospital.
