The excitement was real. More than 36,000 fans packed Pratt & Whitney Stadium at Rentschler Field to watch UConn's season opener against NC State. Connecticut native Victor Rosa rushed for two touchdowns, but penalties ultimately doomed the Huskies in a 24-14 loss.
"We'll bounce back, we'll grow from it. I'm excited about our team, I'm excited about the direction we're headed as a program, I'm excited about our fanbase. I'll tell them this, just keep coming out. Just keep coming out and you'll see this team continue to improve and we appreciate them," Uconn head coach Jim Mora said.
The Huskies next game will be against Georgia State on September 9.
