Friends, family and countless others are trying to get Stratford city officials to rename a street for a local teacher killed in the Newtown school shooting.

Nearly 2,000 people have signed a petition to rename North Parade Street after Victoria Soto, who was murdered while shielding her students from gunfire.

Stratford High School, Soto's alma mater, is on that street and supporters say the renaming would be a fitting tribute to such an incredible teacher.
