A man is dead and another is recovering after they were shot in front of a school and then crashed their vehicle into a tree, say police.
Police say a 55-year-old man was shot in the torso and a 54-year-old man was shot in the leg in front of Bronx Alliance Middle School at Baychester and Schieffelin avenues around 6 a.m. Friday.
Police believe that the victims crashed their car into a tree more than a mile away on Bronx Boulevard while they were trying to drive to a hospital. Police cordoned off the car, which has bullet holes.
The victim who was shot in the leg is in stable condition, but the man who was shot in the torso was pronounced dead at Jacobi Medical Center. Authorities haven't released the names of the victims.
No arrests have been made, and authorities are trying to determine the motive for the shooting.
