Police: 16-year-old boy shot twice in Wakefield, shooter on the run

The victim was shot in the right leg and right armpit.

Police say a 16-year-old boy was shot twice in Wakefield and is recovering in the hospital.
Police say the shots were fired at 9:51 p.m. Tuesday. The boy was shot in the right leg and right armpit.
Officials say he was rushed to NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi, where he is now recovering.
Authorities are searching for the gunman. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
