Police say they arrested a 17-year-old in connection with a shooting in Stamford's South End neighborhood.
The shooting occurred at Pacific and Ludlow streets late Wednesday night.
Police say that while no one was injured in the latest burst of gunfire, the number of shootings in the neighborhood have spiked over the past few weeks. Another shooting happened earlier this week by Atlantic Street and Lipton Place.
The violence prompted an increase in officers patrolling the area, and police say that's what led to a quick arrest in the most recent shooting. After the gunshots, police say a sergeant saw one of the suspects drop a gun while fleeing.
Authorities believe the shootings may be the result of bad blood between groups of youngsters in the neighborhood.
Police are looking for other people involved in the latest incident. They say surveillance video shows four young people leaving the scene.
