Fairfield police say two cars were stolen late Sunday night in the Southport section of town.
According to police, one resident said her 2015 Buick Enclave was stolen on Overhill Road. Police also say a 2015 Subaru Outback was stolen on Willow Street.
Police say in at least one of the thefts, the car was unlocked and valuables were visible inside.
"Not only should you be locking your doors, you should also be removing anything of value that's in plain sight because that's really the driver or the motivating factor that gets them out there," says Lt. James Perez, of the Fairfield Police Department.
Fairfield police are asking anyone with information about the thefts to contact them.
