Two people were killed in two separate shootings in Bridgeport just hours apart, police say.
The first incident involved a teen who was found shot in the head and slumped over in the driver’s seat of a car in the area of Fairfield Avenue and Albion Street, around 6:18 p.m. Monday.
Police say he was just leaving a convenience store store when he was shot inside his car.
The teen was transported to St. Vincent's Medical Center where the 18-year-old died.
Police say they were notified of the shooting through ShotSpotter.
The second incident involved a 53-year-old man who was found shot several times at 750 William St. around 10:45 p.m.
He was transported to Bridgeport Hospital where he later died.
Police say the victim was playing dominoes with friends and family at a gathering when he was approached by a loan gunman on the street who shot him multiple times at point blank range.
Police say the killings mark the 7th and 8th homicides of the year for the city.
Police responded to several other shootings and stabbings across the city over the last 24-hours
One of the victims of the violence was a 13-year-old girl.
