Four New York women are facing charges following a series of undercover operations focused on prostitution in Shelton, police say.
Detectives and the Connecticut State Police Statewide Organized Crime Task Force recently ended a joint undercover investigation targeting prostitution and commercial sexual exploitation at massage businesses in the city.
Police say following the operations, which were conducted over several weeks, search warrants were executed at QQ Spa on Howe Avenue and at Yama Massage on River Road.
As a result, Yue Mei Gao, Mei Li Huang, Hui-Zhi Yang and Zhimin Zhu were arrested. The women have each been charged with promoting prostitution, permitting prostitution and prostitution.

Police also seized evidence and money that is believed to be associated with illegal business operations.
The four have been released on bond and were given court dates.
