State police say a 9-year-old boy from Maine has died after Thursday's accident on I-95 in Westport.
The three-car accident occurred near exit 17 and led to the closing of the northbound side of I-95.
The child was riding in a car when it came to a sudden stop and was rear-ended.
The boy was rushed to the hospital with a head injury and died yesterday.
Police are still investigating why the car stopped suddenly.
