Bridgeport Police Chief AJ Perez has ordered extra security for tomorrow's "Community March in Solidarity with the Police Department."
Perez says he ordered the extra security for the march because he wants to make sure no outside group tries to take it over to serve its own agenda.
The march's organizer, City Councilwoman Mary McBride Lee, says it will begin at 12:15 p.m. at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church at 100 Park Ave.
McBride Lee says the march is being held in the wake of yet another officer-involved shooting of an unarmed black man in order to show that nothing similar has taken place in Bridgeport, and that the people of Bridgeport stand behind their police officers.
A turnout of at least 300 people is expected for the march.
