Police say a car crashed into a utility pole in Southport Thursday morning, temporarily closing off Bronson Road.

Police say a car crashed into a utility pole in Southport Thursday morning, temporarily closing off Bronson Road.
They say the accident happened around 7 a.m., and the pole was snapped in half, sending wires in the roadway.
United Illuminating removed the snapped pole.
Police say the driver was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The road has since been reopened.
