A Milford man has been accused of not refunding money to homeowners in Orange after he failed to complete a contracting project.
Scott Furtado, the owner of Custom Stiles Woodworking, was hired by a couple to build a kitchen and custom cabinets.
Orange police say Furtado received payments totaling over $100,000 but did not complete any of the work in over a year.
During their investigation, police discovered Furtado did not fulfill his contract and could not refund the couple the money he had been paid.
Following a lengthy investigation, Furtado was arrested on April 25. He was charged with four counts of larceny.
Furtado posted a $25,000 bond and is expected to appear in Derby Superior Court on May 8.
Furtado was also turned over to Fairfield police, who had an active arrest warrant for him regarding similar larceny allegations and home improvement charges.
