A crash Tuesday morning in Farmingdale resulted in one death, according to police.
Authorities say it happened just after 5 a.m. between Staples and South Linden streets.
Fulton Street was closed in both directions for several hours after the incident.
Police said a Honda CR-V driven by a 37-year-old man was headed south on Fulton Street when it struck a bicyclist at the intersection of Staples Street. It happened around 5 a.m. Authorities said the bicyclist, a 41-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene. Police said the driver of the Honda remained at the scene and was later treated for minor injuries at a hospital.
As News 12 has reported, Fulton Street, also called Route 109, is no stranger to accidents. Nearly a year ago, a woman was dragged down the street, and a resident near the intersection of Fulton and Staples streets said there have been multiple accidents at that spot alone.
