Police seized 67 guns from a Darien home searched in the wake of a drug bust, officials say.
Police arrested Joezef Tarnowsky, 25, on Thursday after allegedly finding heroin in his pickup truck.
They say he was initially pulled over due to illegal tints on the front windows of his vehicle.
Police say Tarnowsky admitted to officers that he was a heroin user carrying 20 used syringes. The officers then found heroin and an unloaded rifle in the truck.
Tarnowsky has a handgun permit, police say, but the rifle was registered to his father. Police say he was on his way to sell it.
When they searched his home on Richmond Drive, they found the weapons cache.
Most of the guns found in Tarnowsky's house were also registered to his father, police say.
Police say Tarnowsky is not facing gun charges at this time, but will appear in court later this month for the drug charges.
The investigation is ongoing.
