A man who police said shot himself after fatally shooting a person at a Milford home Saturday has died.

Detectives say Durim Berisha was pronounced dead at Stamford Hospital Sunday after succumbing to injuries from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

According to authorities, Barisha entered a home on Housatonic Avenue early Saturday morning where he confronted two people inside. They say he then fatally shot Chaz Wright before he fled the city.

Detectives say Stamford police then located Barisha a short time later, but he shot himself inside his vehicle at the Cummings Beach parking lot before he could be taken into custody.

He remained in grave condition at Stamford Hospital until he died.
