Milford police say a car linked to the theft of a police assault rifle has been found.
Milford police announced that the suspected getaway vehicle has been found in New Haven.
Investigators say the thieves stole that car from a neighborhood in the northwestern part of the city early yesterday after breaking into a dozen vehicles.
One of those vehicles was a state police cruiser out of which an AR-15 and body armor was taken.
Officers say the car has been towed back to Milford and is being examined by detectives.
