A woman was attacked by five people at Walnut Beach in Milford over the weekend, according to police.
Authorities say the suspects - all of whom were arrested - kicked the victim in the ribs and hit her in the head.
The attack happened Saturday shortly after midnight.
Police say the victim was walking with two friends when they passed the five attackers. Officials say they exchanged words, and then the suspects started hitting and kicking the woman.
Authorities say the victim and the group of people had no connection to each other.
The suspects are three women and two men who range from 19 to 22 years old.
Investigators say the suspects tried to run away after the attack, but officials were able to find one man hiding in a bush and the other four people hiding under and behind cars in the parking lot.
Police say the victim's two friends were not hurt.
Police say the three women were released on a promise to appear, and the two men posted bond.
All five are due back in court Aug. 15.
