East Haven police say human remains found buried near LoMonaco's Ristorante in Branford belong to 27-year-old Lizzbeth Aleman-Popoca.
The search for the missing woman led them to the rear parking lot of the restaurant located at 990 West Main St.
Officers say they investigated an area of disturbed dirt by the dumpster. They say that was where they found human remains buried in a "shallow grave."
They say the body has been transported to the medical examiner and an autopsy is scheduled for Thursday.
Popoco had been missing since July 1.
Her 7-year-old daughter woke up that morning and could not find her mom, but all her personal belongs were left behind in the home.
Police believe foul play is involved.
