A missing 83-year-old man with dementia was found dead in the parking lot of Fairfield Prep Thursday, police say.

The body of the man was discovered in the parking lot by a construction worker who was doing work at Fairfield University.

The campus is shared between both Fairfield Prep and Fairfield University.

Police were called to the scene and the man was pronounced dead. 

He was later identified as Earl Ingram of Wormwood Road in Fairfield.

Police say Ingram lived nearby, and that his family called police to report he was missing shortly after his body had been found.

Police say they do not suspect foul play, but are investigating what happened.

An autopsy will be conducted on Ingram to determine his exact cause of death.
