Police identify Route 8 crash victim
A deadly accident closed Route 8 for several hours in Shelton. Troopers say the driver lost control of the car just before 2 a.m. between exits 13 and 14 on the northbound side and hit a tree.

A deadly accident closed Route 8 for several hours in Shelton.
Troopers say the driver lost control of the car just before 2 a.m. between exits 13 and 14 on the northbound side and hit a tree.
They say a passenger in the back seat was thrown 25 feet from the vehicle and died. That passenger has been identified as Fausto Rivera from North Carolina.
Police say the driver and another passenger were hurt and taken to the hospital.
