The incident occurred in the 300 block of Maplewood Avenue.
Authorities reported that Oscar Gonzalez was heavily intoxicated and carrying a firearm at the time.
Both Gonzalez and the victim were hospitalized.
Gonzalez faces charges including assault and reckless endangerment.
