? State police believe a small explosive device was detonated on Route 25 in Trumbull Monday afternoon.

Police say they received a call about the explosion near the exit 9 ramp at around 4 p.m. Troopers arrived at the scene and confirmed that a device had exploded. Residents in the area were shocked to learn of the incident.

?Trumbull is very quiet, that?s why I thought the noise was really strange,? says resident Jamilyn Wesley. ?Because it sounded a lot louder than a car backfiring.?
