Norwalk police say a man held up a bank Thursday morning on Westport Avenue.
Officers responded to the scene just before 10:30 a.m. Thursday at First County Bank. They searched the surrounding neighborhood for hours, but were not able to find their suspect.
Officers say they recovered evidence, which witnesses say was clothing that the robber may have left in a wooded area.
Detectives say the robber passed a note and demanded cash, got the money and ran off. They say nobody was hurt and the suspect did not have a weapon.
The bank has been closed since the robbery.
Police say the suspect is known to frequent the area on a red bicycle. They ask anyone with information to call them.
