A man assaulted a child during a home invasion in Norwalk, police say.

Ilmer Rivera - Zuniga, 22, was arrested on Oct. 18 and charged with home invasion, kidnapping, criminal attempt at aggravated sex assault of a minor, and more.

Police say during the early morning hours of Saturday, Oct. 9, Rivera - Zuniga entered the victims' home, assaulted a juvenile inside the home, and then ran out the front door.

The homeowner told police they woke up to hear their child screaming and, that they saw Rivera - Zuniga running through the house and run out the front door.

Police say the child was injured and transported to the hospital.
