A man is recovering after police say he was shot in the face at a grocery and candy store in Fordham Tuesday afternoon.
Police say the suspect fired one shot at around 3:45 p.m. inside the Barrio Grocery and Candy Shop. The victim is a Hispanic man in his 30s who employees say is named Richie. One employee says he would come in a few times a week to help take the garbage out and clean up.
The employee says Richie was done working at the time of the shooting, but was still in the store when police say the suspect came in. The two allegedly had an argument and the suspect pulled a gun out, shooting Richie in the jaw.
Police took Richie's hat and the store's surveillance video as evidence to find the suspect.
