A man was struck by a car in Stamford and remains in critical condition at the hospital, police say.
The incident happened around 10:55 p.m. Tuesday in front of 162 Grove St.
Police say a 2005 Dodge Durango driven by a 35-year-old woman was traveling southbound on Grove Street when it struck a pedestrian, a 41 year-old Stamford man.
Police say the woman driving the truck left the scene because she didn't realize she struck someone until she stopped at work and noticed damage to her truck.
She later drove back to the scene.
Police say the pedestrian was attempting to cross Grove Street going from west to east and that he lives nearby.
They say the man was not in the crosswalk at the time of the crash.
The 41-year-old victim was transported to Stamford Hospital with life-threatening injuries and is listed in critical but stable condition.
Police say no charges have been filed against the woman who was driving the truck.
