Police: No criminal activity in death of baby at Stamford hotel
Police say the death of a 4-month-old girl from Tennessee at a Stamford hotel last weekend does not appear to be criminal in nature.
According to Stamford Police Sgt. Paul Guzda, investigators didn't find anything suspicious in the death of Ria Dyals.
The state medical examiner will determine the cause of death, a process that could take several weeks.
Police say the girl's parents, Bethany Broyles and Cody Dyals, stopped at a Stamford hotel Saturday on their way to Maine.
Their 3-year-old son and an adult friend were with them.
The couple called police around 7 a.m. when they discovered Ria wasn't breathing.
She was taken to a hospital where she was pronounced dead.
The family has returned to Tennessee.
AP wire services helped contribute to this report.
