Norwalk police say a 39-year-old man was stabbed in the chest in his Laura Street home Saturday night after trying to break up a fight.
Authorities say the incident occurred around 11 p.m. at 17 Laura St. According to neighbors, they often hear the residents of the home fighting, especially on weekends when the people may have been drinking.
Police say the victim heard yelling in the kitchen and saw two men who rent rooms in the home fighting. When he tried to break it up, they attacked him. Police are searching for the weapon, but believe it was a kitchen utensil.
Another roommate of the victim identified the attackers as 30-year-old Roberto Velazquez and 19-year-old Rojelio Valdonado. Police arrested the men and charged them with assault in the first-degree, breach of peace and conspiracy. They are being held on $25,000 bond.
Police say the victim was released from the hospital Sunday. Velazquez and Valdonado will appear in court Feb. 17.
