The Police Commissioners Association of Connecticut honored several officers for their heroic work.
The officers from Bethel, Stamford and Westport were recognized during an annual service dinner and banquet at the Grassy Hill County Club.
In total, eight were highlighted for their work, which includes saving residents from house and apartment fires and water rescues.
“It’s nothing out of the ordinary for what we do, I was just in a situation where I was able to help,” says Officer David Scinto, of the Westport Police Department. “Every one of the officers in our department would have done the exact same thing, so it’s not like I did something exceptional, I just happened to be in a situation and I was able to do something.”
As part of the dinner, the top three graduates of the police academy were celebrated for their accomplishments.
