Bridgeport police say a tractor-trailer driver accused in a deadly hit-and-run over the weekend is in custody.
Police say 33-year-old Lorenzo Doke was arrested yesterday in Maryland by U.S. Marshals.
Investigators say Doke was behind the wheel of a tractor-trailer Saturday when it hit and killed 56-year-old Ricardo Rose near the intersection of Wordin and Howard avenues.
Police believe Rose was selling crack to Doke and his girlfriend, but the couple refused to pay and instead sped off, knocking Rose to the ground and hitting him in the process.
Police say the couple never had any intention of paying.
Police say Doke confessed to his role in Rose's death after meeting with investigators.
He will be charged with manslaughter.
