A man from Torrington is facing charges for driving the wrong way after a crash on Route 8.

It happened on Wednesday around 5 p.m.

Police said Timothy Serbek, from Torrington, drove the wrong way while leaving the scene of an accident.

Serbek was driving north in the southbound lanes of Route 8.

Police said Serbek later told officers he was involved in a road rage incident with the other driver at fault.

That other driver says there was no conflict and that Serbek hit him, according to police.

After a police investigation, Serbek was charged with evading responsibility and driving the wrong way.
