Police are working with a Fairfield restaurant to end a string of car break-ins in their parking lot.
Police say 16 car break-ins have happened at Geronimo's Tequila Bar on Post Road since May. Five happened within the last month and three were in the last week. Rich Hildebrant, Geronimo's general manager, says at least three victims have been employees.
The restaurant installed an infrared camera outside and staff plans to install more lighting. Police have been patrolling the lot for the past week, but suspects still managed to break into three cars.
Police say the camera shows someone entering the back door of the restaurant at the time of one of the robberies, but they are still investigating if the person was involved.
Hildebrant says people found the windows of their cars smashed and their belongings gone. Police say items stolen included cellphones, money and electronics. A bag filled with some of the stolen items was found down the street at Sportsplex.
