Government leaders will probably not have time during the rest of the legislative session to vote on a bill that could potentially bring a casino to Bridgeport.
House Speaker Joe Aresimowicz says the issue of who should get the chance to build a new casino in Connecticut is too complicated to solve in the month remaining in the session, and probably won't come up for a vote.
“We need to figure out what's the best for the state of Connecticut and that always includes our large cities, but it can't just be, 'Oh, let's do a Bridgeport solution and hope it works for the rest of the state,’” says Aresimowicz.
Legislative leaders will vote on a plan to eventually implement highway tolls.
