President Barack Obama delivered the commencement address today at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy in New London.
Central to his speech was climate change, which the president says will be one of the biggest national security threats that these graduates will face.
He told more than 200 U.S. Coast Guard cadets this morning that they are part of the first generation of officers whose service will be affected by climate change.
The White House also released an 11-page report today on the implications that climate change could have on national security.
The president then headed to Stamford, where he appeared at a Democratic fundraiser.
