(AP)- A federal judge has granted a Darien priest, convicted of embezzling more than $1 million from his parish, a fifth delay in starting his three-year prison sentence.
The Rev. Michael Jude Fay was scheduled to report to prison Wednesday. But Judge Janet Bond Arterton on Tuesday postponed that until Sept. 3.
Fay, who has prostate cancer, requested the delay to allow more time for the Bureau of Prisons to determine whether it can give him a new cancer drug.
The U.S. attorney's office did not oppose the request.
