Two Darien police officers say they are lucky to be alive after nearly being hit by a 26-year-old man who was allegedly driving drunk.
Police say Przemyslaw Nagorski, of Avery Street in Stamford, was driving his pickup truck erratically on Tuesday.
The officers, who were directing traffic around a construction site on Leroy Avenue, say they saw the man driving toward them and had to jump out of the way to avoid being hit.
The officers arrested Nagorski after they say he failed field sobriety tests.
