AAA says the national average for a gallon of gas is $3.97 while New York state is higher at $4.37 per gallon.
GasBuddy.com shows the cheapest place to fill up is in Brooklyn is at the Pure Energy on Malcolm X Boulevard, where drivers reported filling up for $3.91 per gallon.
Exxon on Myrtle Avenue is also another cheap choice at $3.95 per gallon.
