Parts of Connecticut will see light rain and light snow showers Tuesday afternoon, with drier and warmer conditions later in the week.
The precipitation will prevail for most of the afternoon with cloudy conditions and temperatures in the low to mid-40s.
Some areas will see rain while others may see snow. Sleet is also possible in some areas.
The temperatures will be too warm to allow accumulations, but there is the possibility for slick conditions.
The precipitation should pass, and the skies will brighten after 5 p.m. before temperatures drop to the low-30s going into the overnight hours.
The near-freezing temperatures overnight could cause some slick conditions and black ice in some areas ahead of Wednesday morning, which will see a mix of sun and clouds. Temperatures will be in the mid-40s later in the day.
The next possible chance of showers will be Saturday and Monday.
