Kids at Read School in Bridgeport learned about the power of reading and how important it is for their future on Thursday.
Educators are hoping by reading books to the children, it will open up their minds and get them to be curious.
It was the 32nd year for the Read Aloud program, which was put on by the School Volunteer Association of Bridgeport.
Around 700 volunteers from the city and nearby communities read to all of the district's kindergarten through sixth-graders.
The School Volunteer Association says it is always looking for volunteers for their reading enrichment, tutoring and mentoring programs.
