Some local communities say pothole repairs are falling through the cracks as the recession puts the squeeze on manpower.
Officials in Stamford say the price of fuel and asphalt is high and manpower is low -- about half the usual level.
As a result, the owner of one local business says he encountered a pothole recently that left his truck in the repair shop for three days.
Stamford officials say in July their new budget will kick in, and people may have to wait until then for many of the potholes to be repaired.
