The family of a Redding beekeeper says a bear has been wandering into their yard and attacking their beehives.
Andrew Wiles says a 350-pound black bear keeps coming to his property and eating different portions of his two hives. He says the attacks are costing the family hundreds of dollars in damages, as well as honey.
The family says while they are upset about losing money, they are more concerned for the safety of their children.
Police say there really isn't much they or animal control officers can do, and they shouldn't be too worried about safety.
Wiles says he is considering getting an electric fence on the property to stop any further damage.
