Religious groups hold Pride Month event to honor LGBTQ community

A number of religious organizations came together at Latham Park in Stamford Sunday morning to recognize Pride Month.
The event was called Pride and Joy, and included several informational booths and prayer services in honor of the LGBTQ community.
Many at the event spoke about inclusion and how important it is to recognize everyone for what makes them unique. A choir sung several religious songs and candles were lit in celebration.
The event was open to anyone who was interested in standing with the LGBTQ community.
