Rep. Jim Himes visited Person-to-Person's food warehouse in Stamford Friday to learn about its mobile food pantry.
The organization plans to launch another mobile unit in September.
Currently, it serves between 40 to 50 families a day but will be able to double that number with the additional unit.
The mobile pantry travels to seven Stamford locations and offers participants the opportunity to select free groceries, including fresh produce, dairy products, meat, poultry and nonperishable goods.
