Officials stepped up security at the Fairfield County Courthouse in Bridgeport Friday after state police investigated a bullet hole in a fifth-floor window there.
According to authorities, the same room where they found the hole has been used by a jury deliberating a murder case, but they say the event appears unrelated.
There are no security cameras on the outside of the courthouse, so investigators say they are reviewing footage from nearby businesses.
Gun violence has been a persistent problem in the city, but neighbors say a bullet hole in the courthouse is especially alarming.
