Resident vying for Entenmann’s “Chief Donut Officer” title
A Wallingford resident is dreaming big, hoping to be Entenmann's next "Chief Donut Officer."
Out of 23,000 initial entries, Gina Nero is one of five finalists vying for the title.
“I'm here to be an advocate for a doughnut,” said Nero.  “Doughnuts may not be brimming with antioxidants like kale or packed with protein...but they do have value. They are delicious and they do make people happy.”
Entenmann's is giving the winner $5,000 and a year's supply of the company's doughnuts.
Online voting will be held until Aug. 7.
