Residents at a public housing complex in Bridgeport held a public meeting Wednesday to discuss ways to make the community safer after several recent shootings.
About 20 people showed up to share their thoughts about community safety in Marina Village on Iranistan Avenue.
Residents from the public housing complex say they have had enough of all the violence, and want to feel more secure in their community.
Some residents are asking for a federal grant to pay for a greater police presence inside the complex.
Residents say they will meet with city officials at a public meeting at the South End Community Center on Sept. 9 at 6 p.m.
