Some Riverdale residents say they have spotted a wild coyote roaming in their yards.

According to Henry Ruiz, who is a professional animal trapper, coyotes may look like skinny dogs, but can be quite dangerous. Police say they fear the coyote could kill pets or harm people, especially at night.

Authorities say they have not been able to trap the coyote yet because they don't have the resources to track it through the woods. Residents who have seen the wild animal have heavily wooded backyards.
