Two local high schools are putting their legendary rivalry aside for a good cause.
Darien and New Canaan girls' volleyball teams are joining forces for one night to raise funds for the Side Out Foundation, a national organization that advances the fight against metastatic breast cancer.
The teams' joint "Dig Pink" fundraising initiative includes a bake sale and raffles to win items donated by local businesses in Darien and New Canaan, as well as baskets filled with pink beauty products, provided by the volleyball players.
