The senior captain recently helped the Bulldogs capture the Division 3 boys basketball state title.
Ricketts was named MVP of the championship game.
He's a high honors student determined to continue his academic and athletic career at the next level.
"It's just really a dream come true. All that work you're putting in right now as a kid, you think it's not going to pay off, but it really does pay off," Ricketts said.
It was Bunnell's second-ever state title in boys hoops, and the Bulldogs’ first since 2015.
